One of the more surprising moves in college basketball this past week didn’t involve the UConn Huskies winning back-to-back men’s titles or Caitlin Clark leading the Iowa Hawkeyes to a second straight women’s final. Instead, it involved John Calipari as the longtime Kentucky men’s head coach is set to move across the SEC to Arkansas, where he has signed a five-year deal. According to Calipari, the program “probably needs to hear another voice” after repeated frustrations in the first round of March Madness. That move helped the Razorbacks jump up the sports betting odds list for next year’s championship, but they’re still below Kentucky on the list. UConn is listed as having +1800 odds for the unthinkable threepeat. Let’s check out the NCAAB latest odds for next year’s champions. Below you’ll find the College Basketball Championship Odds as well as our thoughts on some of the teams.

College Basketball Championship | Duke Blue Devils
Duke came into 2023-24 viewed as a contender for the national title. However, coach Jon Scheyer couldn’t ever get his Blue Devils to put everything together. Their run to the Elite Eight was impressive, given the inconsistencies of their aseason. Duke will have the top-ranked recruit in the nation next year in Cooper Flagg, and Khaman Maluach, a projected top-five NBA draft pick. Will point guard Jeremy Rocah come back for his fifth year? If not, the Blue Devils will need a new starter handling the ball.
NCAA Championship | Gonzaga Bulldogs
Gonzaga might end up losing only Anton Watson, which would add needed consistency to a team that needed the first three months of the season to figure out how to play like a top-15 program. Graham Ike and Ryan Nembhard will return as of the best inside-outside pairs in the nation, and Michael Ajayi (Pepperdine) and Steele Venters (Eastern Washington) have come through the transfer portal to add some needed outside shooting.
College Basketball Championship | Kansas Jayhawks
Kansas came into 2023-24 ranked #1 in the nation, but the Jayhawks’ collapse down the stretch was one of the biggest since Bill Self took over the program. Hunter Dickinson can come back if he chooses to. Even if he doesn’t, though, K.J. Adams Jr and Dajuan Harris Jr give the program stability. Zeke Mayo (South Dakota State) and Riley Kugel (Florida) can score from the wing, either by dropping threes or attacking the rim.
NCAA Championship | UConn Huskies
Connecticut will have a giant target on its back, not just for winning two straight titles but for coach Dan Hurley’s eye-popping comment that the Huskies have “owned” college hoops for 30 years now. The team could lose all five starters as well as sixth man Hassan Diarra, although Diarra could opt in for another year of eligibility. Donovan Clingan, Stephon Castle and Alex Karaban are all projected to end up on NBA rosters after June’s draft.
